I’ve just finished reading “Join Me”, by Danny Wallace. In a nutshell: An absolutely superb book which had me laughing at pretty much every page.
How to describe it? One man’s journey after accidentally creating a cultcollective, simply asking people to “Join Me”. People from all over the country, and around the world, joined without knowing the cause. After deciding between Good and Evil, he chose good, and asks Joinee’s to commit one act of random kindess every friday. More details on the Join Me website.
Highly recommended reading. Absolutely brilliant read. 5/5. I found the book entirely at random whilst visiting Canterbury on Sunday. According to Amazon, it’s not published until 3rd July, so quite why it was at that bookshop I have no idea.
Random Strange coincidences: The Horse & Groom (Official Join Me Pub) is a regular haunt for myself and ex-beenz colleagues (assuming we can agree on it). And my mate Alis was in the audience to the TV recording of “Are You Dave Gorman?“. Ok, maybe not that strange, but I think so.
Me? I’m going to be rooting out an old passport photo sometime later this week. And due to my annoying cackling these last few days as I’ve read the book, Frances is keen to read it too. Doubt she’ll join though.
