I’ve had my fair share of comments on this site. But nothing quite compares to the irate comment last night about my apparent killing of rabbits, when I should have put a fence around my vegetable patch.
Pardon?
Well, it seems if you like Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s “Tales from River Cottage”, and use Google to do the hard work, this site comes quite high up. Woo and Yay, but odd really.
Anyway, I did chuckle at the prospect of receiving more irate e-mails from children shocked at the idea of somebody killing. and. eating. cute. rabbits. I dread to think what sort of correspondence HFW receives. You’ve got to love the idea of the fury at somebody eating rabbits from their garden; yet it’s a shame that animals are only seen as cute and loveable things by so many (not just children), and there’s little or no appreciation of where the pre-packaged food in supermarkets comes from, or what it is. There’s certainly little desire to do much about it and understand food production.
Anyway, on the original subject of amusing comments on weblogs, my small example here really pales into insignificance when Stefan Smalla’s Mecca Cola story is considered, and the religious war that ensued on Monkeyx. More here.
Still, it’s a start.
