After the REM Concert was rescheduled, I received a letter in the post asking for the return of the tickets for either a refund or exchange for the new concert.

That was 3-4 weeks ago, and I’d not heard anything from the SECC who are dealing with the exchange process. The REM HQ word on the matter was that tickets needed to be back for April 1st to be exchanged. With no word after such a time, I was getting rather anxious that well over £150 of tickets (only one of which was mine) had been misplaced, lost or stolen by somebody able to work out what was contained in the envelope (not that difficult given the bulk, address and so on).

So I e-mailed the SECC earlier today to find out what was going on, and got a response a few minutes ago:

…I [can] confirm that the box office are currently working through the backlog of tickets to be reallocated and will post out all tickets in due course.

I confirm that we are not selling tickets until all original patrons have either been refunded or been allocated replacement tickets for the new date.

Please bear with us during this busy time.

So, progress of sorts. Still a little anxious, and I feel kinda sorry for anybody who’d been hoping to snap up tickets in early April for the rescheduled date.

Update, 25th April, 2005: I’ve just received my replacement tickets today.
