The famous philosophical question may soon get answered. For Gorgeous George has been invited to visit Washington to face the US Senators committee that has published accusations regarding funding he supposedly received from Saddam Hussein’s regime.

Galloway has recently seen off The Telegraph’s similar accusations, although the case is under appeal at the moment, but he has lost a great deal of sympathy following his borish behaviour and the hugely divisive campaign in the recent general election. However, he continues to hold a strong position in the minds amongst the anti-war British public as the most outspoken critic of the Blair Governments path to war.

Personally I am very much looking forward to watching the coverage of his appearance before the committee, for genuine and outspoken criticism of the war appears to be very rare in the United States. Indeed, there is a large amount of misconception about how the war is even being carried out there. Whether or not he will do either his cause, or himself, any favours in the process is yet to be seen. But it’s very hard to deny that it’s going to be one of the political highlights of the year.
