I’ve just seen a tantalising trailer for Richard Dawkins’ documentary “The root of all evil”, which will be making an appearance next Monday. I’m a huge fan of Richard Dawkins books (more here), so I’m sure it’ll make for interesting viewing.

I hope that those of a religious persuasion will take time to tune in and give it the attention it deserves, if not to expose themselves to (on previous form) well-argued alternative views to their own, but also - perhaps - to make up for all the times us atheists have politely listened to a ministers sermon, or Radio 4’s belligerently religious (sorry, “moral”) Thought for the day.

Update: My comments on the first part of this programme are available here.

There are plenty of good books on the matter, be it The God Delusion, The Atheist Universe, or even the bible itself (be sure to check in with The Skeptics Annoted Bible, and start at the beginning. A piece of paper and a pen for death, injustice and vengeful-god-fit-of-pique counting is advisable). [...]
