Sony have launched their new ‘Bravia’ advert, which features a Glasgow tower block being daubed in colourful paint. Much as their previous advert (’the one with the balls’) in San Francisco, this one enjoyably covers tower blocks in synchrony to a nice sound classical track. The ‘behind the scenes’ shows how it was all staged.
I don’t quite know where the estate was in Glasgow where this happened – I’d certainly would have liked to have seen it! Whilst Glasgow may not quite be San Francisco, it’s great that such a high profile advert was filmed here, and I look forward to seeing it on a larger format.
Update. If I read The Evening Times, I might have been able to have seen it. Seems it was at Queen’s Court, Toryglen.

If you look really carefully, one picture shows Mickey Mouse’s head being blown off – huzzah!

Richard – you were right, it was Toryglen. I managed to catch some of the filming and got some behind the scenes photos.
From the department of shameless plugs(!) – if you’re really interested, follow the link to my site…
I’m not sure I saw Mickey Mouse getting his head blown off, though it might have happened on a day I missed. Perhaps I need to return to the advert and watch it frame by frame?

I loved the ‘balls’. And then I loved the ‘paint’.
Thank you for telling me the ‘paint’ was in Glasgow.
