Apple’s new Glasgow store is opening on Saturday (via Gordon). The transformation from lacquer-and-soft-furnishing horror that was ‘The Pier’, to shiny tech nirvana has taken a lot less time than expected.
I’ll not be in the opening queue. We have friends over, and I’m really not the sort of Apple fanboy who rushes to such events. But it’s good to know that there is very soon to be a centre-of-town outlet, somewhere where I can (hopefully) get prompt servicing, and can also check out the new keyboard: The existing Apple keyboard is such a dust trap it’s unbelievable. iLife ‘08 is also on my to-buy list.
Looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with this building. It’s in a great location (although not sure of practicalities for taking anything larger than a laptop in, given I doubt it’s easy to get a car close to without snarling up half of central Glasgow).

There is a Starbucks right across the road, wonder how soon it will be before it’s full of MacBook toting hipsters!
