I may be wrong, as its a long time since I was involved - but you can appeal against the planning committee's decision. A group of people in Blayodn ended up in the High Court over planning permission for opencast mining being granted o Green Belt. They won. You can also appeal to the Secretary of State.

However, that is England, I am not sure about Scotland - but if that many people were determined and the Councillor resigned over the issue - it will be worth looking into.

By the way is Pollok Park covenanted?

I am not surprised that the council has given the go ahead for this latest idea. Pollok Park belongs to the people and should not be used in a commercial way. There is a place for this type of 'activity' they could build a man made park or put it in Strathclyde Park where there are already commercial activities. Slowly though, GCC are running amock with their authority. Glasgow is becoming an artitecural nightmare and we can't afford this to continue. The people have demonstrated that this is not the place for the go ape activity and questions must be asked as to why then have they agreed for it to go ahead. We are the tax payers they are the protectors of our city and our green places. They should be ashamed that they even considered such a thing.
