My name is Richard Leyton.
I’m 34 years old, and live in Glasgow, Scotland. I moved here in 2004 with my Glaswegian fiancée Frances, after we’d met in London. I grew up in Somerset and lived for several years in Düsseldorf, Germany and before that, Oxford.
What is this place? It is largely just a place for me to put up things that interest me up from the internet and world in general. Quite what that is varies - quite considerably - over time. Right now it’s predominantly about technology, politics, running, religion (specifically my lack thereof) and food matters. It can get much more technical, and certainly more political (especially around elections), and there are times when I write about nothing more than running, or simply the fun I’m having learning the Piano.
But whether or not you agree with what I write, it is always heartfelt: I find it strangely cathartic to try and express my thoughts and views in a public space, as coherently as I can manage. Your views may not agree - and I may not always make complete sense: But please don’t let them get in the way of dropping me a note and letting me know your views or thoughts, or simply saying hello if we meet.
If you want to contact me, my contact page is a good place to start!. Comments and views are always welcome, either directly, or better yet on the posts themselves (The comments form is at the bottom in most cases). I’m also on facebook.
In person, well, I’m a very new member of The Bellahouston Road Runners, a running club in Glasgow. I’m also frequently visiting London on business, but when that’s over I enjoy meeting up with friends and colleagues (old and new).
So drop me a line: I’m always happy to hear from new people, former colleagues, and especially happy if that involves a beer or three, or simply a chance simply to catch up, share some memories, or hear new ideas
