At last, I’ve found a decent and free port of GIMP to Mac OS X. I’d been beginning to worry that a port of this superb graphical tool to Mac was never going to happen. There’s a commercial MacGimp, which I didn’t want for purely selfish monetry reasons, so the free version can be downloaded here. It does need X running, but does feature a nice aqua UI.

On a similar note, batch processing and conversion of images (such as TIFF to JPG, or putting notes on pictures), can be done with ImageMagick, a Mac package is available here. It’s a command line only program, but that’s fine with me :-)
