I’m a huge fan of R.E.M, and was extremely pleased to hear they were touring soon: I’ve not seen them live, and very much want to. Unfortunately they didn’t announce UK dates until this week, so I was a little worried they were going to skip us out altogether.
Anyway, I needn’t have worried. They’re playing the SECC in Glasgow on the 22nd February (get tickets here, but be warned, you need Internet Exploder and it’s an awful website). Opted for standing space, as it makes the event much more enjoyable if you can get up close to the band (or at least try to).
Here’s looking forward to the new album “Around the Sun”, due out in early October. It’s their first studio album since 2001, and the sneak previews and single are sounding very promising.
