I’ve long been an advocate of our elected representatives finding new ways of engaging with the public. Whilst weblogs aren’t a panacea, it’s certainly a step in the right direction: Open up your reasoning and your experiences to the wider public, and be more honest in the process, and people will better understand what you’re trying to do.
Of course, the press don’t always help matters, distorting what’s “important” based on the vicious little backwater that is the media scrum and whether contradictions have been detected.
But I digress, it seems that David Milliband, the new secretary of state for the environment, food and rural affairs is now keeping a blog. Should be interesting to watch.
