Wow - Easter - the season of new life!
New life in F1 coverage from 2009 - Great !

Martin Brundle a must, Steve Ryder is a must too. Please don't think there is anyone less passionate about motorsport than him. After Murray he is 2nd for feeling and loving the sport, it was he who got the gig at Grandstand on the back of his motorsport credencials back in the dim and distant past. Just ask Murray.

At 83 he may just feel a full race, every race is too much. But why not comments, features or the like .....

James .......... well the beeb may feel some of their R5 team are ready to move up a gear and go TV. James has done a great job, no one could follow Murray and pull it off. I just wish he sounded a little more excited when required.

The theme - it seems the world and his wife want's the Chain back. I'll be there when I get home, 3mins and 4 secs in to just hear that bass again!

If ITV need to pull out, why don't they split the season with the beeb so Silverstone commences the new beeb term?

I couldn't believe it when I read about this earlier - we were assuming F1 was stuck on ITV for another couple of years yet so a switch wasn't in my thoughts at all!

The general feeling is that coverage on the BBC will be so much better - but isn't the grass always greener on the other side? There are too many variables at the moment to say whether it really is a good move or not.

Personally I think the BBC's coverage of everything from football and rugby to snooker and athletics, is much better than ITV so I'm hopeful that F1 will be no different.

BBC Sport has moved on a lot since those Grandstand days where F1 was shoehorned in between horse racing and darts, so I think we can expect decent coverage - and with the BBC's extensive use of the "red button" technology (and HD channel) we should be well catered for.

The commentators can make or break the coverage though so that's where I'm a bit more tentative - like you and everyone else I hope Brundle makes the switch and his contract doesn't tie him to ITV, but I'd gladly leave all the rest providing the BBC can come up with better equivalents!

just 2 say i cnt wait for f1 to move to the bbc aslong as they keep the same team.
The best thing before the race is Brundle running up the grid trying 2 talk 2 the best f1 drivers and stars.
best thing is that there will be no adverts.
